Gate Update for Sept 12
Published: September 12, 2022
To start my thanks to guard Pete and the 100+ residents that have started the Homeowner Information Form process to receive their new remotes and to the 30 residents that have completed the process.
Today’s update is all about the process/sequence of events that will happen starting Tuesday.
• The main gates will come down.
• The posts attached to the stone columns will be removed.
• New posts to rehang the gates will be installed directly behind the stone columns in 6 feet of concrete. Sprinkler heads will need to be relocated.
• Concrete pads will be poured beside the new gate poles for the operators.
• The concrete for the posts and the pads will need to cure for 48 hours.
• Any rain could/will cause the process to be delayed.
• If there is no rain or delays it’s possible the new operators will be installed on the pads by Friday.
• The existing gates will be cleaned up, new stronger hinges will be installed and the gates will be installed on the new posts.
• During the time the gates are being removed and installed it is possible the entrance or the exit will be blocked.
• During this time, if possible, please use the Asheville gates to exit and enter Hogans Glen.
• I think our strategy will be to use whatever gate is not blocked/being worked on as an entrance into Hogans Glen.
• When the gates are re-installed, we have the “option” to activate the gates and use our new controllers prior to the directory being installed. This is possible as all the operators will be the same brand (Liftmaster). One advantage of this option is the Katie entrance gate would become operational.
• After the gates are re-installed, the new controllers will be installed at all 4 entrance gates.
• Paining the posts and touch-up painting on the gates.
• All 4 controllers will operate off the same database which will be built off of the Homeowners Information Forms we are all completing.
• Sometime during the above process i.e., after the operators are installed but before the controllers are updated, we will schedule multiple programming sessions for your vehicles. At that time, each vehicle will be required to come to the front gate for programming so their vehicle can sync to the controller.
If all goes well, we can have everything completed prior to the HOA BOD quarterly meeting on September 27th which I hope everyone can attend as we have many items on the agenda to discuss.
The next update will focus on security.
Thanks
