Gate Update for September 26th

Published: September 27, 2022

Beginning on Tuesday, loop cutting to repair/replace the street sensors will begin, so expect lane closure to occur at the main gates as well as Katie gate.

For this update I would like to discuss security and access to HG once the new system becomes operational. Once operational there will be several ways for residents and visitors to gain entrance into HG which are described below.

Residents will have access via handheld remotes or through programming their vehicles HomeLink wireless control system (dates to assist in programming your vehicle will be shared soon). Because the HomeLink frequencies were changed several years ago it is likely that vehicles older than 2016 cannot be programmed due to the new HomeLink frequencies in use today. These vehicles will require the use of a handheld remote for entry. Extra remotes are available for $50. Please let the guard know if you need extra remotes.

Residents also have access to HG via their personal 5-digit code. Your personal code will allow you to input your code into any of the 4 gates allowing you access into HG. FYI, each gate entrance will be upgraded with new controllers providing new features, options and capabilities for HG homeowners.

Of course, visitors to HG can gain access through the main gate which is staffed from 7AM to 7PM seven days a week. Additionally, with our new gate controllers from CellGate, HG residents will be able to download an app allowing them to provide visitors access to HG.

We are requesting that you do not share your personal 5-digit code. As an alternative, the CellGate capabilities include the ability to set up temporary or reusable QR codes for time of day and day of week entry by visitors, service providers, etc. With this process visitors will receive a QR code allowing them access to HG based on a set time/schedule/frequency as needed. Visitors will simply press a button on the controller to access the built-in camera and then hold their phone with the QR code displayed to the camera and the gate will open for them. The QR codes can also be set up for one time use so visitors attending a party (for example) can gain access to HG after hours.

The controllers will also have a resident directory with a call tree for each HG property (if desired) so you and/or your family member(s) can be reached for access. The call tree can be set up to call nine different individuals in the order you prefer which when answered will enable you to open the gate remotely for your visitor. Calls you receive from visitors via the built-in directory call tree can be set up for (a) voice only (b) voice with a still photo and (c) voice with live streaming.

Anyone attempting to enter HG using an invalid 5-digit code will automatically have their picture taken and stored in our database. Simultaneously our cameras will capture their license plate and vehicle type, so if there is an incident, we’ll be able to look at who tried to gain access in the hours prior and can hand pictures, license plate numbers and vehicle descriptions over to the Trophy Club Police.
